Winter Weddings

At the Tiffany Ballroom, we love a good winter wedding!  When the weather gets a little chilly and things tend to slow down a bit, it is the perfect time to gather with your friends and family to celebrate your love!

Traditionally, in New England, the wedding season kicks off in March and rounds out by mid-November.  However, there are many advantages of having a Winter Wedding.

Just because the weather outside is frightful, does not mean you can’t have a dream wedding inside the warmth of the Tiffany Ballroom. With the advantage of having overnight accommodations on site, the Four Points by Sheraton Norwood in Massachusetts is the perfect place to host a winter celebration!

On site Ceremony

What could be more romantic than saying “I Do†in front of our new indoor fireplace?  Or, for smaller receptions, our Lennox Essex Room is an intimate and dreamy space for you to say your vows.  By having the ceremony on site, there is no need to worry about guest transportation problems.  Your ceremony and reception are just an elevator ride away.

DÃcor

Winter dÃcor really allows for many different themes.  Whether you’re looking for a winter wonderland filled with sparkling white and blues, a more nature-inspired event with pinecones and evergreens or a totally glamorous night with emerald green accents with gold sequins, the Tiffany Ballroom is a perfect background for your reception.

Centerpieces featuring candles are a popular option for winter weddings.  In addition to bringing romance and warmth to the reception, they are a great way to  spend your centerpieces budget.  Our in-package vendor, Flowers and More, has many options available to you.  Providing lanterns for ceremony dÃcor, and repurposing to your dining tables using your package centerpiece credit for a wreath to accent it, just one example.

Benefits

If you’re facing the tough task of trying to plan your dream wedding on a tight budget, an off-season event can help!  In addition to a discount on the venue and package, travel prices and overnight room rates tend to be a bit lower for your guests as well.  When calling around, ask vendors if they have discounts on their off-peak season. You may be pleasantly surprised with how much you can save!

Challenges

The uncertainty of the weather is one of the biggest challenges of planning a Winter wedding.  However, this is New England after all, so you could get snow in October or April too! With the availability of guest rooms, if a winter storm is in the forecast, guests can always call to extend their stay with us.

When the temperatures drop, the challenge over what the wedding party will wear to be stylish yet still comfortable is one of the main worries of winter weddings.  There is no reason you can’t still have your dream attire, with a few modifications for comfort.

For the bride and bridesmaids, add on complimenting shawls or wraps, or select a dress with sleeves (thinkâ€..Royal wedding!).  For the men, a traditional wool tux will keep them warm.  But, remember, you’ll spend most of your time inside where we can make the temperature comfortable!

Photos

Where to take photos is another concern for many couples considering a winter wedding.  At the Four Points by Sheraton Norwood in Massachusetts, our fully renovated hotel has countless options for indoor photo locations, but also has year-round outdoor spots.  Behind the building, you’ll find new stone steps leading down to a wooded area featuring a rustic bridge, perfect after a snowfall!  If the temperature is too cold, cozy up for some romantic pictures at our outdoor fireplace backed by evergreen trees.  If you are willing to brave the outdoor temperatures, take cover under our Pavilion for some beautiful group shots.
